About

Hi, I’m Michelle Thomsen. I have over 25 years of experience in accounting and management. In 2001, I co-founded Soekris Engineering, Inc. and grew it from zero to over $6 million in sales within three years. I earned a BA in Liberal Studies and Business from California State University, East Bay (Hayward), and an MBA from San Jose State University. I moved with my husband and two dogs to Bend in 2017, after visiting every summer since 2012 for the spectacular mountain biking and craft brew. We enjoy hiking, biking, snowshoeing, paddling the rivers and lakes, and exploring the beauty of the area. I volunteer as a Family Mentor for Habitat for Humanity here in Bend, and I help build and maintain trails with Central Oregon Trail Alliance.

I have extensive experience with QuickBooks and Xero, but it’s my understanding of all aspects of starting, growing, and running a business that sets me apart.

I bring added value in these areas:

    • Planning and problem solving

    • Proven ability to build and implement processes and systems from the ground up

    • Sound business judgement, integrity, and professionalism

    • Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills

    • Organized and detail-oriented

    • Extensive background in finance, accounting, HR, and operations management
